A certain number of cards—typically seven or ten, depending on the variation being played—are dealt to each player at the start of the game. With one card face-upsaatakingh to begin the discard pile, the remaining cards form a draw pile. Each player takes turns selecting a card from the discard or draw pile, after which they discard one card from their hand. Until one player successfully merges all of their cards into legitimate sets or runs & discards their last card, the round keeps going.
